I suppose there isn’t a proliferation of hip hop logos anymore due to the death of album booklet art and the advent of social media (esp. Twitter). All anyone has to do now is upload a creative (or not so creative) picture of themselves or something random and make it their avi and there ya go.

Some of these aren’t logos specifically but merely typefaces that we can strongly associate with an artist stemming from their album art.

I guess the only “logos” I see today are that Maybach Music Group one, Drake’s OVO Owl thingy or whatever that is and the teenagers who go around with YMCMB on their tees and sweatshirts. These are the only I can think of but I don’t feel any of those are associated with a specific artist.

A lot of these here are pretty iconic including: Salt N Pepa. Mary J Blige. 2Pac. Wu Tang Clan. Public Enemy. Nas. RUN DMC. EPMD. Outkast.

Over the weekend a random UK-based man with 152 followers started the Twitter trend #Why I’m Not Attracted To Black Girls. At first glance I thought userMike Skeeva was of mixed race origin but it turns out he is Caucasian with a deep tan and claims “I’m not racist I like black culture.”.
